Renowned speaker and consultant Oh Ei Sun appointed political secretary to PM PDF Print E-mail
Written by zen

According to an official from the Prime Minister’s Office, Oh Ei Sun, an academician who also plays the role of consultant, entrepreneur as well as a highly sought after international speaker cum motivator has been appointed as the political secretary of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak which came into effect on June 16. The Sabahan has experience in linguistics, management and engineering as well as holding some positions in the United Nations and international bodies. Oh had reportedly said "I am honoured to be able to serve the country and the people at this critical juncture, both politically and economically. There is one element in 1Malaysia that I feel most deeply about. It is about integrity, both in the public sector and the private endeavour. I would like to see more emphasis on this as we continue to promote 1Malaysia,"

Oh Ei Sun likes to call himself "Dr" but there is debate whether he is actually a real doctor or not. The Juris Doctor of Law that Oh Ei Sun has is not the same as a Phd "Dr". The Juris Doctor of Law is more like a first bachelor's degree. So there is considerable debate whether someone with a Juris Doctor can call himself "Dr". From wikipedia:

Evidence that the J.D. is not a doctoral level degree

- The Master of Laws (LL.M.) requires the J.D. as a prerequisite, and the Scientiae Juridicae Doctor (S.J.D.) requires both the J.D. and the LL.M. as prerequisites. This suggests that the J.D. is not the highest degree in law.

- Non-U.S. academic institutions have stated that, despite its name, the J.D. is not a doctoral level award and graduates are not entitled to use the honorific title "Doctor", and have stated that the J.D. is not a terminal degree.

- The U.S. government sets the starting pay grade for "Master's or equivalent graduate degree(s) (such as LL.B. or J.D.)" at GS-9, but the pay grade for "Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree(s)" at GS-11. The European Research Council states that, "First-professional degrees will not be considered...PhD-equivalent, even if recipients carry the title 'Doctor'."

I note that in the article above, Oh Ei Sun is not referred to as "Dr". Yet it seems that Oh Ei Sun likes to go around calling himself "Dr", as in his biodata:

"Dr. Ei Sun OH (Juris Doctor, MBA, MSc, University of California, Davis) is a highly sought-after international speaker-trainer-motivator, consultant, entrepreneur and academician."

mr.independente,

you think indians fate will change for the beter under PR. You talking shit man!. No need to look far, just see what happened to kampong buah pala residents. LGE came to see the residents when election is coming but after that batang hidung pun tarak nampak and instead tell Toh Su Khoon to solve the problem. Eventhough the problem started in the time of BN govt but now LGE is in power, why he shy away. Cakap juga banya besar tapi kuntut bau tahi. kalu tarak bole bikin kerja, cakap saja tarak bole. letak jawatan habis cerita. Leoas kalu balik Melaka bikin cencaluk

Mr Singh,
I am a Penangite and the issue of land by the Kampung Buah Pala residents existed long before LGE came in as Penang CM! Do you know where Kg Buah Pala is situated? Why has KSKoon and Teng Hock Nan and also Dr Hilmi Yahya not responded and come clean about the issue? Nusmetro was and is owned by ex Govt CEOs and KSK and THNan as well as Hilmi(Hilmi got his vast share by usurping Balik Pulau land from the Malays!) conspired to get the land at a dirt price thus cheating the Indian community. Most penang Malays know this! Where is he now? Please be a Penangite and and I'll treat you to Penang's best(most renowned) Laksa Asam or Laksa Lemak! Do you know where to get that tasty food, Mt Singh? If you don't know then SHUT THE F**K UP for GOOD!

there you go Gurbuk...some one just responded...I need not say anything. Put your vote to MIC if you think they can do a better job. The chinese and Malays also face the same problem of house being demolished but rarely those issues being raised as a racial issue. Obviously some ppl trying to make it sounds like a big racial issues and blame those party that did actually help them but not those who betrayed them.
1 more thing I found it funny...talking about heritage? Anything very historical there until threaten to ask UNESCO to unlist Penang as a historical town? I only saw some houses built like those illegal houses in Klang Valleys as well ..along the KTM railway in Selangor and KL. Nothing historical. Now LGE ask the developer to compensate I think the people there should consider since they hv no choice.
Hindraf has disappoint me a lot for not being consistent on their stand. Initially established as a non-political party now they want to register themself as a political party. They just proven to BN they are not consistent. I will not vote for Hindraf if they ever contest any election, I'll only vote for a reliable multiracial party.
