Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong, the youth chief of MCA has denied claims where he said that he will ensure at least 200 central delegates from the movement would not vote for Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat for the presidency at the party’s upcoming elections. This came in light after Ong commented on the claim and said that the delegates should not be treated like ‘voting machines’ where they will ‘do as they are told’. |

Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department said that he is in support of a ‘third force’ made up of independent MPs. Currently there are 7 Members of Parliament who are independents and Nazri said that they could form a another pact which will help to keep the check and balance of the 2 forces currently which are BN (Barisan Nasional) and PR (Pakatan Rakyat). |

Salahuddin Ayub, the vice-president of PAS claims that the party have proof that the state government of Kelantan actually do have the right to claim oil royalties from Petronas. His motion to table and emergency motion to debate the issue was rejected by the Dewan Rakyat. Salahuddin said “I sent an emergency motion under standing order 18(1) on March 10 to debate on the oil royalty issue because I found several new discoveries after Parliament was adjourned last year, and we don’t at all agree with the answer of prime minister. The federal government’s excuses fell flat against the evidence in the party’s hands.” |

Local Chinese daily China Press is facing a suspension threat after they reported that Tan Sri Musa Hassan, the IGP (Inspector-General of Police) has resigned from his post. This was claimed by Lim Kit Siang, the DAP stalwart, who said that the paper’s Editor-in-Chief has been told to resign for publishing the report which has been rubbished by both the IGP and the Home Ministry where if the Editor do not do so, the consequences could be a suspension term of 3 to 6 months. |
