Deputy Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar said that a report posted in an online portal claimed that the private hospital doctor who examined Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan was arrested is not true. The article which was also posted on Raja Petra’ Kamaruddin’s website claims that according to the medical report by the doctor, there was “zero active bleeding”, “zero ulcer or pus” and “zero tear and scar” in Saiful’s anus which then means there was no sodomy as claimed by Saiful against Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

It was claimed that the report was signed by Dr Mohamed Osman Abdul Hamid from Pusrawi Hospital. Raja Petra said “The police also have a copy of this report that I have published, so they know what I know,” and that the doctor has since gone into hiding fearing that he might be pressured to change his medical report. He added “There is no truth to these allegations. In fact we interviewed the aforementioned doctor in the early stages of our investigation following the report lodged by Saiful. Neither did we arrest the doctor or detain him for three days as alleged in the Malaysia Today article. We do not have any plans to do so either,”

Lim Kit Siang, the adviser of DAP said “This is a very disturbing turn of developments and will subject Malaysia to a new spate of international bashing unless the police can come forward to throw light on the first medical report and the whereabouts of Dr Mohamed Osman.”
